Does Any of This Sound Like Mansplainin’ to You?
A love song, a wink, and one long conversation.
Liner Notes
About the song
“Does Any of This Sound Like Mansplainin’ to You?” is, at its core, a love song—with a wink and a nod to something so prevalent out there that there’s a word for it now.
Then it kept growing until it became one of the longest conversations on the album.
Everybody has been in one of those discussions where two people are absolutely convinced they’re communicating... while somehow managing to miss each other entirely.
This song doesn’t try to pick a winner. It just shines a light on the comedy, frustration, and occasional absurdity of trying to help someone you care about—or explain something you care deeply about—to someone you care about who’s probably already got a pretty good idea of what’s going on by themselves, thank you very much.
It’s also a reminder that confidence and certainty aren’t the same thing. Sometimes we’re right. Sometimes we’re wrong. Most of the time we’re somewhere in between, trying to make ourselves understood while the other person is doing exactly the same thing.
If the song makes you laugh, nod your head, or argue with it... then it probably did its job.
If it doesn’t... well, I can try to explain it again. Anytime, Baby!
Mission: 1v1. Remarks: Dissimilar. Two aircraft, two different playbooks, one engagement. Victory doesn’t come from assuming the other pilot thinks like you. It comes from understanding how they actually fight.
The same thing can be true in a relationship.
Sometimes the hardest conversations aren’t about proving you’re right. They’re about learning why the other person believes they are.
